17mm hex hubs on XL axles

This mod lets you use the HPI 17mm hex hub conversion on XL/Flux axles. This article was originally written by Arisking on the SC forum. All credit goes to him for the mod.
Required Parts
- 4x 17mm hex hubs (eg HPI #86387, HPI #87534, others compatible)
- 4x M5x3x18mm screw shaft (HPI #86095)
- 1/8th" drill bit
- 10-32 tap
Instructions
1. Bore out one side of the hex adaptor ready for an M5 tap. Tap the hole out using the 10-32 tap.

2. Check the screw shaft fits in OK

3. Bore out the lateral hole on the axle to 1/8". Beware, these axles are difficult to drill through. Grind off any burrs after drilling.

4. Check the screw shaft fits in OK.

5. Grind the back of the hex hub until it fits on the knuckle/carrier without binding.

You may need to grind the end of the screw shaft down a little because it is 18mm length rather than 17mm.
