The Savage Central Wiki Image Host (SCWIH for short) is an image host designed to centralize all images hosted on the wiki. It is located at http://scwih.kizzard.net. Please use this host for ALL images used in wiki articles as we must have them in a single place. To obtain the password, please contact kiz.

Using the SCWIH
Uploading images
To use the image host, just go to the upload page, select the images you want to upload (up to 25 at a time) and enter your username and password. The final field lets you set the size. The default (and max allowed) is 480 - if the images are over 480px in either width or height, they will be resized to 480. Most images such as illustrations of parts may not even need to be that big, for example I've used 240px wide images in the spur gear page, which is adequate. In this case if your images are of different sizes you can just enter the size you wish and let the SCWIH do the work for you.
Currently JPG and PNG images are supported. GIF will be added soon.
When the upload is complete you will be presented with a list of the images. You can just copy the links presented and use them in wiki articles like normal.
Viewing images
You can view uploaded images at the view page. As there will be hundreds of images hosted, you are given the option to filter by image owner and file name to make finding specific images easier. If you want to view all images you can click the "show everything" box. Press "Filter" to apply the options.
Deletion of images has not been implemented yet but will be added in time.
Image Naming Scheme Suggestions
Naming schemes are not be enforced but a suggestion is below:
[article name]-[image description].jpg
For example an image of an ofna 250cc fuel tank could be called:
fueltank-ofna250cc.jpg
The advantage to using names like this is that the images will be very easy to locate in the SCWIH using filter options. Images names will be automatically prefixed with your username so we can see who has uploaded what.
Image types
JPG images are suitable for photos. PNG and GIF images are suitable for illustrations, graphs or diagrams.
Copyright & Hotlinking Reminder
We have permission to use HPI product photos. Remember to re-host ALL images on the SCWIH. Do not embed images directly from other sites.
