Re: Its been a BAD day in my nitro world!
Poor ERCM engine, you are killing it. PREHERAT ALL new nitro engines to 189F before you attempt to start them Lean your LSN to get a good idle with the idle gap roughly 1/2 to 1mm. The LSN is set properly once the engine can idle without the temps climbing..

Re: How to make my xs wider in stance
I'd do a 17mm buggy hex conversion and run buggy tires. Super durable and lightweight

Re: need new grass/dirt tires
Pro-Line Mashers were always my favorite all around tire. Great forward bite but will still allow you to slide sideways at high speeeds without traction rolling on grasss, pavement and dirt. They are very differential friendly too.

Re: squealing screeching? but no lack of performance??
Check the brakes for binding, they may be adjusted too tight or too loose causing a binding issue. Brake pads could be worn out, or you have bearings somewhere in the drivetrain worn out. It could be something else entirely but those are my first "go to" items..

Re: keep breaking shock shafts.......need some ideas please
Nothing new bud, I tried all different kinds of shocks and towers. Al. shocks and shock towers just don't belong on a hardcore basher. The plastic HPI big bores or the standard plastic 8 shock setup is your best bet. Go back to the stock shock towers or an aftermarket Delrin shock tower if they are ...

Re: How to make my xs wider in stance
Yeah, I was really pleased with the handling of my XS right out of the box. I bought sway bars and never even put them on. The only way I would want it wider would be if I extended the wheel base at the same time. The XS is almost race worthy out the box. I spent tons on my Nitro's trying to get the...

Re: How to make my xs wider in stance
Use a 1/2" offset wheel. I have seen all kinds on towerhobbies for the XS.

my Flux XS review so far...
So far nothing but a scratched up lid and 1 broken antenna tube. I have only ran it 30 minutes tops, but it seems plenty tough to me. The power from my 2s 5000mah Lipos is plenty. Pretty much wheely on demand, anything past 1/2 throttle and it stands up no matter what speed I am running. I love the ...

^^ They should have included braces that are milled out for clearance. Just find a set, it will be worth it. The extra length helps imo.

Re: Who has dealt with IRC
He makes excellent products and if there is a problem, he will handle it. I speak from experience. I ordered a set of extended lcg tvp's and it came with a the wrong skidplate. One photo in an email and he shipped me the correct skidplate and let me keep the other part for free. Top notch guy imo.

Re: Problems Starting Savage XL
Make sure you prime the engine before you hook up the glow ignitor. Put your finger over the exhaust pipe outlet, hit the button on the rotostart and watch the fuel go through the fuel lines and stop when you see fuel enter the HSN housing inlet. Then attach your ignitor and fire it up. Lean the LSN...

Re: Savage Drive cups/ Wheel axles/ Out drives
Somebody sticky the good driveline part numbers for us. SavageBasher7, thanks for sharing. I swear I saw a ceramic slipper clutch setup for our trucks, but I can't find it again. I'd like to run a looser setting on my slipper, cheap easy way to prevent breakage.

Re: Alza center diff question please help
Will the truck still pull the front tires off the ground on demand with the center diff installed? I imagine it would not, but I am a brushless noob. I wondered when someone would finallly build a "bolt in" center diff option for Savages, took em long enough.

Re: Steering Servo Tests
Yes it will but you will need a Voltage Regulator with most Radios... I just bought a 7.4V ready rx and Tx off ebay for 50 bucks. Looked good with my beer goggles on anyways.. :D This radio frees me from using a regulator. One big advantage to the regulator is it increases run time by dropping the ...

Re: Steering Servo Tests
Switch to a 2s lilo receiver pack with an adjustable regulator set at 6.5V .... That makes a world of difference... plus you can run the truck for days without charging the Rx pack. Nimh and Nicds are just plain obsolete IMO. This a great thread with great info. I just wanted to add some things tha...

Re: Always breaking..
Real simple solution, don't be on the throttle or brakes when you land your jumps. The only r/c setups that can handle that are ones equipped with a center diff and good cvd's. Like 1/8th scale buggies and truggies

Re: steering servo recommendations
I'd rather spend the money on one good servo and be done with it I have used these which are rebadged Hitec servos. Never had one die on me. I have had countless Traxxas servos die on me even with proper linkage and end point adjustment. You can tighten up your steeering servo saver and add a metal...

Re: New Savage dropped its drive shaft
Blue Loc-tite is a must for any moving parts that are metal. Trust me, years of nitro bashing and racing under my belt. I have been out of the hobby for a several years, but I am impatiently awaiting my new Flux XS... Loc-tite will be put every where I think it needs it before the first lipo pack go...
