nitronly how does it go with your speed runs?
Today the truck is a whole different animal

The ambiant surface temp of the road was 102f while the air temp was 78f. Doesnt make sense I know but thats what the temp gun said. Anyways me attempt today yielded 56.8mph with a early shift from 1-2. 3rd has been maxed back out which is a plus. So no more 3rd gear pulls haha
I still cant get over the fact my truck started in 3rd gear pulled 57.3mph and did it with no body on HAHA

ERCM or NOTHIN

Uploading a video of 58mph... its dark and hard to see but at the end its clear it says 58mph. The motor is a totally different animal when night falls hehe
Sunshine believe it or not the spring and grub screw stayed in place. I got super lucky. I do want to try taller gears. My 58mph run was with 18/43t and 3rd gear dialed back a half turn from max. So with a 20t cb and 3rd maxed I should hit 59 or higher, as long as the truck holds together lol

Sooooooo I have to say its super important to make sure the batteries in the radar gun are fresh. Last night the radar gun clocked the truck at 58mph.... cool right. Well today I made a few changes to the truck. Ran again and this time I ran both radar and gps at the same time. Umm needless to say the radar was way off. It read 58 and the gps read 54. That is a big difference. However I did manage to hit 58 today with gps so all is not lost LOL...
Also I took the purple alloy shock towers off and put the stock ones back on. It was a decent amount of weight I shaved off right there. But in order for the shocks to allow the axles to sit level under load I had to mount them below the stock location, just drilled into the tower.
Heres the newest legit 58mph video

This is why its so important to have fresh batteries in the radar gun.

Figured out what that slipping sound is. Took the truck out again today and noticed it would not shift into 2nd. Basically sounded like it had stripped the cb or spur. Well I took the tranny apart and found that the 2nd gear pawl has been flattened and rounded off. Basically its to short to engage the gear haha. I guess after an insane amount of fuel and 3 1/2 gallons of ERCM Picco WOT runs it has met its demise.
Ill post of pics tomorrow when I can tear down to install the new clutch pawl.

Last night I fabbed up the standard flux TVPs to fit nitro. Took me about 4hrs but it works and came up with some creative ways to mount things. Also dropped in the 19t cb to test out, then I'll move to the 20t then the 22t. But I have to heat treat the 22t because it's from the RS4 and is not hardened.
