Boulder Holder on IRC front and rear extended TVPs?

Post by chrisexv6 » Tue Apr 06, 2010 2:56 pm

Does the Pro-Line Boulder Holder body fit the extended IRC setup?  I *think* it does, its advertised as an MGT/LST, etc body, but I just wanted to be sure.

Thanks.

I painted one of those about a year ago, but never used it because I extended mine with the FLM setup shortly after.
http://www.rccoh.com/IMG/paint/proline. ... index.html

It will fit however.  With the FLM extended chassis and "over-sized" shocks, it will fit over them.  Just looks a bit short.  (I can take a pic if it will help.)

Is there a Boulder Holder for the MGT or Revo?  That would fit better.

Actually it looks like there are two versions.

Part # 3257-00 is for the T/E/2.5-Maxx/Revo/Savage
Part # 3261-00 is for the E-Maxx/E-Revo/Revo/MGT

I ordered the one that fits the MGT.

Just got the body today, it looks like it fits OK....only possible issue is that it hits the muffler depending on how high I mount it.  Dont want to mount it off-center, nor do I want to go and cut large chunks out of it for the muffler to clear.

Any idea how well the paint will hold up to heat?

Or maybe I should just get the extended body posts and lift the body up high

You can get some foil tape and put it where it contacts the exhaust.

I glued a silicone exhaust gasket to a body once, to prevent it from melting on the exhaust, Super glue held it on well, lasted a long time.

measure the diameter of the pipe at its fattest part (usually before the pressure fitting) then cut the same lenght of silicone fuel tubbing then thread zip tie through it, install it on the pipe. this will prevent the body from directly comming in contact with the pipe and prevent it from melting :D

Excellent suggestions, thanks!

Glad to see Im not the only one with this issue :)

The body will be mostly for "looking good on the shelf" but of course Ill have to take it out every now and then.

Now I just need to come up with a cool paint scheme for it.
